One of the most comforting truths in Islam is this: Allah’s mercy is always greater.
Greater than your sins. Greater than your past. Greater than the bars that may confine you or the burdens that weigh on your chest.
I’ve witnessed firsthand how many of our beloved brothers behind bars feel forgotten, ashamed, or unworthy. But let us remind you you are never beyond the reach of Ar-Rahman, the Most Merciful.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “When Allah completed creation, He wrote in His Book which is with Him on His Throne: ‘My Mercy overcomes My Anger.’” [Bukhari & Muslim]
That means you can always return. Even after the worst day. Even after years of mistakes. Even in a dark cell. Even in deep regret. Allah’s door is open always.
To those reentering society and trying to rebuild be gentle with yourself. Start small. Seek forgiveness. Keep praying, even if your voice trembles. Keep trying, even if you stumble.
To the families who are tired, to the volunteers who serve, to the grieving around the world His mercy surrounds you too. Sometimes we can’t see it right away, but it’s there in the healing, the ease, the silent strength, and the people He sends to support you.
“And My Mercy encompasses all things…”(Qur’an 7:156)
Hold on to that.
Ansar Outreach truly believes that no soul is too far gone. We believe in redemption. We believe in second chances. And most importantly, we believe in the mercy of the One who created us.
May Allah shower His mercy on the imprisoned, the oppressed, and the broken-hearted. Ameen.
